South Shore Biotherapy

Have a ketamine treatment-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Are ketamine infusions addictive?

Ketamine infusions administered in our controlled therapeutic environment have not been shown to lead to dependence or addiction. Our treatment protocol for depression and other mood disorders is designed to be safe and effective. We encourage you to contact us with any specific concerns regarding the treatment process.

  • How soon can I be seen?

Initial consultations can typically be arranged within seven days of your inquiry.
  • Do I need a referral from a doctor or mental health services provider to take advantage of your services?

A referral is not required to access our services. Our comprehensive evaluation process, which includes both medical and psychological assessments, determines eligibility for treatment.
  • How will I pay South Shore Biotherapy for my ketamine treatment?

Payment is required at the time of treatment. We accept cash, debit, and credit card payments. Financing options are available. As we are not contracted with health insurance providers, all patients are considered 'private pay.' Patients are responsible for all service costs, even if their insurance may offer reimbursement. For non-cash payments, a credit or debit card must be on file and will be automatically charged at the time of appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will incur the full treatment cost.

  • Can I eat or drink before my treatment appointment?

Patients are advised to refrain from eating or drinking for four hours prior to their scheduled appointment, with the exception of small amounts of water.
